Following 10 years delivering innovative digital transformation services under the Spherica Business Solutions brand, we identified the huge business process efficiencies we could deliver using intelligent automation to connect the IT infrastructures we were implementing. Intelligent automation is the future of business but many organisations are yet to embrace the concept and realise the benefits of a truly connected, collaborative workplace.
The decision was made to create a completely new Digital Innovation Division dedicated to delivering the next level of digital transformation through intelligent automation, and so Synaptek was born. We’re on a mission to make everyone’s working day more productive and enjoyable by reducing the time spent on inefficient processes and mundane, repetitive tasks. Steve has spent more than 25 years in the IT industry delivering solutions that have the customer at the heart. Having started out as a ‘techie’ in the early days of his career, he later moved into business development before becoming a business owner. His passion and eye for understanding challenging projects and identifying the expertise necessary to deliver solutions that deliver what they promise, very much feeds the culture across the business. He encourages disruptive thinking and inspires his teams to continually innovate and be the best they can be.
Karl Nicholson CIO
Karl’s vision to build a future where technology enables everyone to work to the best of their ability is the driving force behind the brand. He’s obsessed with innovation and thinking differently to solve problems that hamper productivity in the workplace. His creativity and desire to deliver process efficiencies that create more productive, agile and engaged workforces is what makes him so popular with clients and strategic partners alike.
He’s spent 15 years in IT and has a proven track record in delivering emerging and disruptive technology solutions for businesses as diverse as public transport, motorsport and utilities, including Virgin Trains, World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), Renault Sport F1 and Welsh Water.

Nick has 20 years of experience within the IT industry where he’s been responsible for the design and implementation of complex environments, from small businesses right through to global enterprises. His expertise and commitment to delivering the highest standard of work are second to none.
