Joining forces to redress the failure rate of many digital transformations

PRESS RELEASE Birmingham, England, 12th September 2019

Spherica Business Solutions is joining forces with Synaptek, its’ intelligent automation division, and Box, a leading Cloud Content Management provider, to deliver a game-changing webinar about the future of work.

Today’s digital-first consumer is forcing businesses to rethink the way they do business. Customers and employees alike have become so accustomed to the efficiency of consumer-based technologies that they expect businesses to meet their digital expectations in the same way, which means companies have to evolve quickly to remain competitive in this consumer-led era.

The explosion of cloud technology has enabled businesses to become more agile and responsive to these demands, yet many businesses are not getting their digital transformations right. The oft-quoted McKinsey & Co research found that 70% of businesses say their digital transformation won’t reach its goal, and the latest data suggests this may actually be as high as 86%! So why are so many companies failing to harness the power of technology to make work easier for all?

Steve Jennings, Co-Founder of Spherica and CCO of Synaptek, explains, “The answer is simple: platform and data sprawl. Businesses are now awash with cloud platforms and Shadow IT is rife. Data is duplicated across applications and stored in various siloes around the business, and these systems don’t all connect to one another. This means users are constantly switching between apps to find the information they need, and critical content is still shared via traditional channels, like email or in print, leading to data duplication and no single source of truth. This increases data risks, creates frustration and ultimately wastes time and money.”

This situation creates issues for businesses on many levels, resulting in:

  • compliance and data protection risks;
  • slow decision making and approval processes;
  • version control issues;
  • too many communication portals; and
  • employees wasting valuable time!

Spherica and Box commissioned a research piece in the UK in 2019 to identify just how big the issue is for businesses and the results were eye-opening. In fact, an SME with 150 employees is likely to waste over £500,000* per year purely through a lack of collaboration, or inadequate shared content platforms.

Harnessing the power of cloud technology

These three experts in digital working share a vision to enable simpler, more automated and collaborative ways of working that free up employees to focus on value-added tasks and innovation, instead of manual, time-consuming tasks. They’re coming together to share their expertise and real-life use cases that will give attendees the keys they need to succeed in their digital transformations.

They’ll also demonstrate why it’s vital for businesses to be considering an AI strategy in order to thrive in the digital era. As highlighted by Rich Karlgaard, Publisher & Futurist, Forbes Media, “AI has unprecedented potential. Companies will either thrive or wither depending on whether they realize this potential.”, so now is the time to act to determine how AI can transform your business.

In this engaging and interactive webinar, the three brands will share:

  • the pitfalls to avoid in any digital transformation;
  • the importance of a robust cloud content management strategy to protect data, improve processes and enhance collaboration;
  • the game-changing benefits of intelligent automation and the vast array of manual businesses processes that can be automated for more efficient and cost-effective ways of working;
  • insight into the importance of embracing AI to revolutionise how work is done and make businesses more agile, fulfilling to work for, profitable and sustainable.

Spherica will be hosting this disruptive webinar along with Synaptek and Box on Thursday 19th September at 2pm (BST). To join simply register free here.

*The survey of 2,000 UK workers identified that an SME with 150 employees wastes an estimated £508,974 per year. This is based on each employee wasting on average 1.04 hours per day at a cost to their employer of £3,393 per year. This is then extrapolated out to the average number of employees in an SME.
